REQUIRED TOOLS:
18mm and 21mm wrench
7mm socket and ratchet
15mm socket and ratchet
Hydraulic jack and stands (optional if not using service lift)
INSTALLATION:
1. Lift vehicle with suspension loaded. This may be done using a 4 post service
lift or by backing the car up onto ramps. NOTE: if using jack stands, it is
also important to support the frame before removing the panhard rod.
2. On 98 and newer models, cut the factory zip tie that holds the emergency
brake cable to the drivers side of the panhard rod.
3. Using an 18 and a 21mm wrench, remove the factory panhard rod. Using the
same wrenches, remove the passenger side bolt on the upper panhard rod support.
4. Using a 7mm socket, remove the 3 sheet metal screws that attach the panhard
rod support to the upper heat shield.
5. Loosen the three 15mm bolts on the drivers side and remove the OE panhard
rod support.
6. Using the supplied bolts and spacer, install the passenger side relocation
bracket as shown in the image below.
7. One bracket installs on the inside of the factory mount and the other on
the outside. The spacer installs in the upper hole.
8. Using the OE drivers side bolts, install the BMR upper panhard rod support.
9. Reinstall the panhard rod. If using an aftermarket panhard rod, re-lube the
polyurethane bushings.
10. On 98 and newer models, it is important to zip tie the drivers side emergency
brake cable to the panhard rod. Not doing this will produce an audible "thunk"
while driving.
11. Verify that all bolts are tight and lower the vehicle.
